Document Targets

I have added some document targets at certain points within a multipage document. To direct the user to these points in the document it appears that I need to put some links into the document which would then allow me to 'scrollTo' the location.

Is it possible to link to a document target from external to the document i.e. have a list of the document targets external to the document which when clicked gives focus to the text control and scrolls to the correct location within the document?
