Change to image filters
By mistake, a JPG was renamed a PNG.
In 14 the filter loaded anyway, but it doesn't any more in 15.1. The error message actually doesn't relate to the image, but the control gives ambiguous error: "The object- or image attribute could not be get or set. The object with the specified id probably does not exist" Would it be possible to check the image header as that must have happened in the past. Thanks, Ryszard Last edited by Ryszard; December 20, 2009 at 22:07:14. |

Re: Change to image filters
This has been reproduced in TX Words 15.1 ActiveX as well.
The error raised is "The object- or image attribute could not be get or set. The object with the specified id probably does not exist" and clearly this would fail to load the image into the document. TX14 imports the image without fault, in both TX Words 14 and through the IDE. Adam |

Re: Change to image filters
Hello,
Could you please provide me a way to reproduce that? Do you have the image file available? Also, how to you insert the image into the document? A step-by-step procedure would be great.

Re: Change to image filters
The attached file is really a JPG not a PNG if you insert into TX with any method it will fail on TX15.1 and work in TX14.
This is not really a bug, I have spoken to Bjoern and he informs me that it was more of an accident than design that this worked in 14. For now the programmer must check the file header manually to ascertain the file type if they can not rely on the file extension. This is an unusual situation and should not affect many developers, however I understand the disappointment in this case. The main thing to keep in mind, is that improvements to the way TX handles images since TX14 more than make up for the rectification of this accidental feature even if it is desirable. Regards Adam (I have added to a zip file as if you try and upload the file as a PNG the system errors with "This JPG file has the wrong file extension" ) |
